HISTORY OF THE TOBACCO BURST GIBSON LES PAUL
The original 1959 Les Paul standard tobacco burst was purchased by Duane in June of 1971 & used in the final months of his life. The axe nicknamed 'Hot Lanta' is heard on the live recordings from the closing of the Fillmore East concert on June 27, 1971, some of which was released on the deluxe edition of the band's Eat A Peach LP. Duane also played it on the Live from A&R Studios in New York, August 26, 1971, a radio broadcast which was later officially released as well. After Duane’s death, ABB roadie Twiggs Lyndon changed out the frets & had the original frets mounted on the back with the name ‘DUANE’ spelled out. AXE HEAVEN® is the originator of handcrafted miniature guitars. Now, we are recreating the same Gibson high level of craft and quality in each miniature. This miniature replica model honors the Holy Grail of electric guitars. The stain on this handcrafted collectible is an amazing reproduction of the original solid body instrument.
